Clients may utilize services at the State College Food Bank up to twelve times in a twelve month period. However, due to federal and state regulations, there must be 30 days between services. In addition, clients must work with a case manager once a year from a referring agency to continue receiving food help.
Clients no longer receive a pre-packed bag for their regular grocery distribution. Clients shop from the grocery shelves with the aid of Grocery Assistant Volunteer, receiving a large supply of groceries, sufficient for about a 7-10 days. The size of the food order corresponds to the number of people in the household. In addition to non-perishable foods, every grocery order includes milk, eggs, bread and frozen meat.
